I have a quick free pattern for you today – the Tiny Stars pattern!
I designed these tiny stars ages ago and forgot about them until recently when I was hunting through my supplies and came across them. It took a bit of trial and error to get a nice star shape with only one round but I think these are the clear winner. Check out my Instagram for a pic of the various trials.
And as an added bonus I’ve included the Teeny Tiny Stars pattern. They can be blocked into a star shape or work nicely as a tiny flower.
So without further ado, how to make the tiny stars.

Tadaa! Tiny Star is done. Just give it a block to really make those points pointy. I found that even just squeezing the points between my fingers helped make them pointier.
I made these tiny stars in a range of different yarns, different sizes and fibre content, so that you can see how they work in a few different things. I personally think that 100% cotton gives the truest star shape, but even the squishier cotton blends and acrylic yarn give a nice end results.

What would you use some Tiny Stars for?
I’m making some little hair clips for my shop. I’ll share some pics when they are finished.
I’d love to see your projects, just tag @VividKreations on Instagram or @VK.VividKreations on Facebook to share.
Thank you for this cute tiny stars pattern. It’s so well explained!
You’re welcome 😊 enjoy.
Thank you for this pattern. I’ve already made 3 and will make quite a few more. I covered the front of them with glow in the dark glue for my son to put around his room. They’re very cute and fun.
You’re welcome Melody. And what a wonderful idea to make them glow in the dark – I hope your son loves them!
your instructions are great and the pictures very helpful
Thank you very much Stephanie. Enjoy 😊
Your pattern was wonderful. Now, how do I put the tiny star squares together to make an Afghan? Do you have the instructions?
Thanks
Hi Carmen, thanks for your kind words. To be honest I haven’t finished my blanket with the Tiny Star Squares yet, so I haven’t joined them. I was thinking of using the flat zipper join by Dedri of Look at What I Made but you could use any method you like. I’d recommend trying to join just a few squares and have a play with different methods.
